Sports and Leisure Equipment Microgrant
Grant Guidelines
- Grants are for adaptive sports or leisure equipment only
- The suggested grant maximum is $5,000
- Grants are not guaranteed
- Grants are available to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Documentation will need to be provided upon applying.
- This grant is also open to Minnesota based organizations which serve people with I/DD
- This is not an emergency grant. It may take up to 45 days to find out if your application has been approved.
Details
- Applications will be accepted from individuals of any age with I/DD. Staff, family, friends or supporters may apply on behalf of anyone with I/DD.
- Applications will also be accepted from Minnesota based organizations which serve Minnesotans with I/DD
- Arc MN staff will make all purchases and cannot partially fund a project. We do not send money to applicants, and we cannot reimburse for purchases already made.
- This is an equipment focused grant. Grants may NOT be used for
-Vacations
-Camps
-Classes
-Vehicle upgrades
How to Apply If possible, please complete an application through our website. The online application is accessible to people with visual disabilities using screen reading software. Contact us for other options.
All applications should include detailed information about your project.
Please take time to complete all areas of the application.
Any incomplete applications may be denied.
Be sure to tell us
- what you or your organization want to do
- how the items requested will help
- what items are needed to achieve your goals (provide as many details as possible including cost)
- how you or your organization will feel if you receive your requested items

Nothing will be submitted until you click "Apply".
Review Process Representatives of The Arc Minnesota and a review panel that includes community members and self-advocates will help decide which applications to approve.
If detailed information, especially on the items you would like to receive, is not included, your application may be returned to you immediately so you can complete it.
We cannot review applications that do not list items requested and their prices etc.
People who get a grant will be encouraged to share their story and complete a follow-up survey. Stories help ensure future funding, and surveys help us improve the program.
